100% Redwood Substrate - Redwood has been a staple of California building for decades. The natural features of the wood itself make for an incredibly stable material when used both interior or exterior. Redwood siding was largely used for years because of its natural resistance to rot, decay and pest. Although, more importantly for the state of California, Redwood is naturally fire resistant and is considered a Class “B” Substate.
Manufacturing Process -Close
Manufacturing Process - Finger jointing is a manufacturing process that has been used for years, but slowly has developed and use of modern technology has created a process that leaves wood more stable and consistent than a solid piece of lumber. The finger joint process turns low grade lumber, which has minimal uses into a 100% Clear board that comes in desired lengths of 16’ and 20’. In addition, the finger jointing process actually influences the flame spread performance but combining all clear blocks of Redwood to get a rating of 40, which is an impressive all natural Class “B”.
Siding: NuskuFireblocker™ offers a wide variety of options for siding profiles including Channel Shiplap. The product line being Redwood directly refers to our profiles based out of the California Redwood Association Handbook, and thus are listed as patterns such as L772, L773, L433, and L771.
Bevels -Close
Bevels - NuskuFireblocker™ has a wide variety of sizes for bevel siding ranging from the Traditional Pattern 400 (1/2x4) to 1’’ patterns such as Pattern 373 (3/4x10) and even have usage of Pattern (1/2x8). The only additional thing to be noted with our NuskuFireblocker 1/2x material is that because of how thin the bevel gets, it simply does not meet the necessary requirements and thus does not receive the CalFire Approval.
Special Patterns -Close
Special Patterns - Special Patterns allows for a unique aspect of NuskuFireblocker™, as there are many times where a project is going into the ever expanding WUI Zones although the home owner does not want to use a “traditional” pattern. With NuskuFireblocker™ that is no problem, as we can have special patterns out of either the CRA, WWPA or even a CAD drawing with the same approvals. Thus keep the performance without sacrificing options.
Trim Boards -Close
Trim Boards - NuskuFireblocker™ is a great choice for both trim and fascia options with Finger Jointed Boards coming in either 16’ or 20’ lengths. When finishing around the windows and eaves, why not use the same Fire Rated materials just used for the siding. Our S1S2E Product comes in anything from 1x3 thru 2x12 material including 5/4. Not only does it come pre-primed and finger jointed but with the same 20 year warranty and a substrate of 100% Redwood providing natural resistance to rot, decay and pests.
